The open, highly aerobatic bio-media promotes healthy water conditions and easy cleaning in any filter. Matala™ is a simple filter media that works! Matala™ has a super-high surface-area to void-space ratio, maximizing the size of the potential nitrifying bacteria colony. More bacteria means lower ammonia, nitrite & nitrate levels than found with conventional filter medias. In many situations, Matala™ works better than bio-balls! Each piece comes in 48" x 40" x 2" rectangles for easy use. Can easily be cut for custom applications. Perfect for pond filters, Wet/Drys, canister filters, power filters and more!
