Fritz Guard
A high quality, multi-purpose water conditioner for freshwater and marine systems, Fritz Guard™ neutralizes chlorine, chloramine and toxic metals. Fortified with necessary electrolytes, Fritz Guard™ contains Aloe Vera and Vitamin E. Fritz Guard™ enhances biofiltration by producing a coat over the media, aiding in the bacteria’s attachment. This is especially helpful with “slick” surfaced, plastic media such as bio-balls, Kaldness and bead media. Special buffers stabilize the sodium thiosulfate, which is naturally unstable in solution & gradually becomes acidic in other dechlorinators. Our unique solution eliminates any decomposition.
Most importantly, Fritz Guard™ adds an extra slime coat to protect your fish. The slime coat is a fish’s natural defense system. Secreted by mucous glands, the slime coat protects fish from disease, aids in osmoregulation and reduces stress caused by sudden changes in the environment. Fritz Guard™ is therefore absolutely essential to a fish's continued good health. Abrasions and wounds are caused by handling, netting, shipping, disease, scraping against tank decorations, aggression and caustic water. Fritz Guard™ aids in the healing of these wounds and provides fish with a first line of defense by creating a synthetic slime coat that performs the same necessary functions as the natural slime coat of the fish.
